World Cup 2010 – Spain, the New Champion

11th July 2010, all the Spanish will never forget this historical moment, the day which they conquered the World Cup.  Spain never won any World Cup before this, but tonight they made the history, winning their first ever World Cup. Spain also registered themselves as the new 8th World Champion. It is not dream, Spain defeated Netherlands with 1-0 in Extra Time. Iniesta, the playmaker scored the most crucial goal in his life, which brought the victory to his nation.

Vicente del Bosque González, manager of Spanish national football team!!!

His goal broke all the Dutch’s heart ~~

Spain will never go that far in World Cup 2010, without him, David Villa, scored 5 goals in 7 matches!!!

Torres, his performance is quite disappointing, but you cant deny that his contribution for Spain…at least, Villa never score a goal in all the matches without him…

Super Mighty Casillas, the World Class Goalkeeper, also the captain of Spain, well deserved the victory…

Poor little Sneijder, but he played very well in all the matches…

Game Stats for the Final…

Once again, the Englishman, Howard Webb broke another record in this game. He awarded a total of 13 yellow cards and 1 red card for the clash between Spain and Netherlands. Incredible!!! Once again, Spain has a very good advantage over the possession, which leads them to the victory. The Dutch committed a lot of fouls, trying to break the flow but instead they got the cards for the silly mistakes. Congratulations to the Spanish!!! cheerful:

World Cup 2010 – Final (Spain vs Netherlands)

(Image from http://2010.sina.com.cn/)

After exactly one month of football matches, both Spain and Netherlands has eliminated all their opponents and books a seat in the Final match. It is not easy, and they have gone through so many obstacles in order to play in the Final. Both team has never won World Cup before, and a new World Champion will be born tonight.

  Spain Netherlands
Match 1 Switzerland (0-1) Denmark (2-0)
Match 2 Honduras (2-0) Japan (1-0)
Match 3 Chile (2-1) Cameroon (2-1)
Round of 16 Portugal (1-0) Slovakia (2-1)
Quarter Final Paraguay (1-0) Brazil (2-1)
Semi Final Germany  (1-0) Uruguay (3-2)

Spain even though lost their first match to Switzerland, but they slowly gain back their momentum, and all the way sail to Final. In fact, they managed to take down German by 1 goal in Semi-Final as most of the people expected Germany to be the World Champion with their superb performance and good teamwork. On the other hand, Netherlands won all the matches and their performance is much more stable and convincing. During their match with mighty Brazilians, the Dutch actually made a superb come back. Robinho scored the opening goal, but the in-form midfielder, Sneijder scored twice and eliminated Brazil. :cheerful:

Meanwhile, not to forget to mention the clash between Germany and Uruguay for the third and forth placing. The genius German striker, Müller scored the first goal for Germany, but two goals from Cavani and Forlan actually helped Uruguay to take back the leading position. Jansen, the German defender leveraged the score few minutes after the Forlan’s goal. Finally, Khedira scored the winning goal for Germany at 82 minute. German won the third place, and in fact they were also third in the previous World Cup.

Young German, fantastic display for World Cup 2010
