The Beginning

Thomas and Uber Cup 2010 has finally come to an end on 16th May. This most important and most prestigious badminton tournament was held in Malaysia from 9th May to 16th May. Malaysia team was actually given high hope to win the Thomas Cup since the last victory in year 1992. However, China stopped us from dreaming and ended our journey at the Semi-Final. In less than 2 hours time, China actually set-up their final clash with Indonesia, by beating Malaysia 3-0.

 Uber Cup 2010

Big Shock!!! South Korea actually ended China’s 12-year stranglehold on the Uber Cup with a 3-1 victory on Saturday. No one expected this as China actually sent out a strong squad for Uber Cup. Kudos to the South Korean players. This is also their first win in the Uber Cup history.

No surprise. China won their fourth Thomas Cup in a row, after Chen Jin took the third point from Indonesia’s Simon Santoso. After playing for 2 and half hours, China won Indonesia with 3-0.  Lin Dan won the first match for China. He played very well in the game and beat Taufik in 45 minutes without facing any tough challenge. Then, China’s first men double, Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng won over Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan in three matches. Chen Jin, China’s second men single wrapped up the game and snatched the vital point. Congratulations to China!!!

China won their fourth Thomas Cup in a row, since year 2004…

Finally, EPL 2009/2010 has come to an end last Sunday, and Chelsea won the title with 86 points, just one point ahead of the defending champion, Manchester Utd. The winner remains unknown until the last round of EPL… Manchester Utd tried their best to beat Stoke City with 4-0, but Chelsea actually thrashed their opponent Wigan with 8 goals clear, and grabbed the title.

2009/2010 English Premiership Table

Also, Drogba from Chelsea appears as the top scorer in EPL 2009/2010 with a total of 29 goals. Rooney, the most promising striker in Manchester Utd comes to second by scoring 26 goals, follows by Bent from Sunderland, 24 goals. Despite haunted by a series of injuries, Torres still managed to score 18 goals in EPL.

Congratulations to Hotspur, as they managed to beat the likes of Manchester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool to win the 4th spot and also the entry to Champions League next season. My favorite club, Liverpool did a bad job this season, ended at the 7th spot, without winning anything. Hopefully, they can make a strong comeback next season… Yeah, send away Lucas and Benitez, both of them are not helping the team at all…
